A hazardous material survey is an indicative survey that will highlight hazardous materials located at a particular site. The survey will usually involve sampling and analysis to confirm the presence or absence of chemicals / biological hazards that may be encountered at the site.
The survey will involve both sampling items and also cataloguing items that are of a suspect nature. The sampling vs cataloguing regime will depend on factors such as the type of building, the nature of construction, accessibility etc. The survey may need to penetrate various parts of the building structure for inspection and sampling.
The executive summary gives a brief outline of the materials identified on site. Areas where no access or limited access was gained are also included within this summary.
Desktop study of all available documents to identify background and existing information is incorporated within the report.
