A Rewarding Journey from Asbestos Trainee to a Career Progression as a Surveyor:
Beginning the year as trainees, we now have the pleasure of welcoming our newest batch of qualified surveyors at Acorn Analytical Services! It’s inspiring to witness such determination and professional growth in such a short span. Tom Mackie, Noah Woodward and Brodie Johnstone joined Acorn at the beginning of 2024 and are all now fully qualified surveyors!

Here’s what our Head of Operations, Dan Crask had to say: ‘So 2024 kicked off with a bang here at Acorn, we recruited heavily on the qualified and trainee front and we brought in Noah, Brodie and Tom. Six months later and they are now qualified asbestos surveyors, their commitment to the role and eagerness to learn was picked up quickly by their mentors and we had some great feedback about all three from the get-go.
It’s been great to watch their journey here at acorn and they are a credit to themselves with the effort they have put in. We look forward to watching them continue to grow with Acorn.’
The new generation of Asbestos Surveyors:
Over the last few months, we’ve already welcomed our next batch of trainee surveyors including Liam Wood, Neil Howes, Haidyn Ashley and now Casey Pickerill. They’re already well along the way to gaining their P402 (surveying qualification) and are progressing amazingly!
Sam Chisholm is one of our Technical Auditors and he oversees the trainee’s and also monitors their progression to being qualified. He said: ‘Lewis, Neil and Haidyn came to the company after having prior careers in other sectors looking for a new career path. Liam and Casey have joined us wanting to start their first career in our industry. Liam has his P402 at the beginning of November and we have high hopes with the remaining trainees following him. This reflects from their willingness to learn and getting stuck in shadowing and assisting our fully trained surveyors.’
