Celebrating the women of Acorn this International Women’s Day

At Acorn Analytical Services, we believe that the strength of our company comes from the people within it. This week saw Women in Construction Week take place and International Women’s Day is being celebrated today, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to celebrate the talented, dedicated women who play an essential role both in our business and the wider construction industry.

When the southern Acorn office first opened in Northampton in 2013, the construction and asbestos industries services were male-dominated, but we’re pleased to see this is changing.

Over the last 13 years, we have welcomed an increasing number of women to our team, each of them bringing fresh perspectives and experience and helping to shape a stronger, more inclusive future for the sector.

Who are the women behind Acorn Analytical Services?

The Northampton branch of Acorn Analytical Services is proud to employ 36 women across the business who work in a range of roles including as asbestos surveyors, bid writers, laboratory analysts and reporting. Many of these hold management positions too.

Their attention to detail, commitment to quality and ability to problem-solve under pressure help ensure that our clients receive the high standard of service they expect from Acorn.

But beyond their professional expertise, they also play a vital role in building a supportive and collaborative workplace culture. Their contributions strengthen our team and help create an environment where everyone can succeed.

Looking to the future

Whilst progress has been made, there is still more work to do to achieve true gender equality across the construction industry. By recognising and celebrating the achievements of women today, we help inspire the next generation of girls who will continue to shape the future of our sector.

This International Women’s Day and Women in Construction Week, we would like to say a huge thank you to the women of Acorn Analytical Services for their dedication, professionalism and the positive impact they make every day.
