SOLUTION

How did we help?

Following a successful tender process in 2019, Acorn Analytical Services were appointed a place on the LGSS (Local Government Shared Services) construction framework, one of the UK’s largest public sector shared service operations. The LGSS framework is used to deliver a full range of business support services to a variety of public sector organisations including Cambridgeshire County Council, Milton Keynes Council, Northamptonshire County Council, Norwich City Council and Northampton Borough Council.

Acorn Analytical Services was asked to carry out a wide range of projects for Cambridgeshire County Council, including asbestos management, refurbishments, demolition and re-inspections.

Since winning the contract in 2019, Acorn has provided Cambridgeshire County Council with around £150,000 of services per annum including:

  • 50 Management Surveys
  • 100 Refurbishment Surveys
  • 10 Demolition Surveys
  • 130 Re-inspection Surveys
  • 20 Air Monitoring and Four Stage Clearances
  • Asbestos soil sampling when required.

In terms of added value, Acorn worked throughout the lockdowns caused by the Coronavirus pandemic and was able to help the client when other suppliers were struggling. Our dedicated account team stepped in and project managed asbestos removal processes from start to finish.

BENEFITS

Cambridgeshire County Council were allocated a dedicated account team consisting of a Commercial Manager and Operations Manager. Both work closely with the Council to ensure all requirements are completed correctly, efficiently and in line with current guidelines and legislation.

Not only has Acorn managed to deliver all work on time to a high standard for our client so far, we can also take pride in the fact that what we do ensures the safety of other contractors and the people who go on to use these Council buildings.

We were able to exceed Cambridgeshire County Council’s expectations in the quality and timely delivery of our services, so much so that we have now been given the opportunity to work with Central Bedfordshire Council, which is linked to Cambridgeshire County Council.

FEEDBACK

What they said about us?

Cambridgeshire County Council has been impressed with how efficient, professional and knowledgeable Acorn has been to work with. Always going above and beyond, Acorn proved to be a great help during the first lockdown in 2020 and without them planned works would not have gone ahead, which would have had both a financial and operational impact on the Authority and its clients.

Communication throughout the process of requesting a quote, booking a survey and producing an easy to read and detailed report in a timely manner is always first class and we’re never left disappointed.
