Business Administrator Apprenticeship

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable apprentice to support our specialist asbestos removal business with the day to day running of the office. The varied role involves working closely with and supporting all areas of the business. Whilst on the apprenticeship you will work towards an Advanced Level 3 Business Administration qualification.

Weekly wage

£200.00

Working week

Monday - Friday, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm, with 1 hour paid lunch.

Total hours per week: 40.00

Apprenticeship summary

For this exciting and varied role, we are looking for a hardworking, reliable apprentice to be involved in the day to day office administration within the business as well as data processing and data management. A need for excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail is very important for this role. You will be working closely with and supporting different teams within the business whilst working towards an Advanced Level 3 Business Administration qualification. For the right apprentice, this role could lead to a permanent position.

With the aim to develop and have more responsibility during your apprenticeship, the role will include some of the following areas:

  • General administrative duties including typing correspondence by e-mail and letter
  • To undertake filing, record keeping, photocopying and distribution of relevant documents
  • Data Processing onto internal systems with a high level of accuracy
  • Data Management
  • Using Microsoft Packages, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as AutoCAD and Client Software
  • Answering the telephone in a professional manner and dealing with enquiries
  • Dealing with stationery/stock levels and reordering as and when appropriate
  • Assisting all members of the team as and when required
  • Dealing with requests for information
  • Ensuring that the Policies of the company are observed, and that good practice is encouraged, particularly in the areas of Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and confidentiality

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the organisation which is relevant to your post within the company to meet the overall business objectives. Full training will be given.

  • Good IT skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail) Experience in CAD would be advantageous

Apprenticeship standard

Business Administrator
Level 3 (A level)

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will complete the following qualifications as part of your Apprenticeship:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Standard Apprenticeship
  • Level 2 Functional Skills maths and English if not already achieved
  • You will also develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work within an office environment

This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated towards training and learning new skills. You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessment at pre-arranged times.

Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.
