THE start of the year has been a busy one for the team at asbestos management consultancy Acorn Analytical Services with a number of new clients coming on board.
These are exciting times for Acorn – and as the business has continued to grow – so too has our team.
Since Christmas, we’ve created 12 new jobs within the team at Northampton, providing important opportunities within the asbestos industry for experienced professionals and apprentices.
‘Asbestos hasn’t gone anywhere’
Managing Director, Sam Savage said: “The creation of a new senior leadership team to drive the company forward, together with these new roles, has created a real springboard for future growth and success.
“Asbestos hasn’t gone anywhere – it’s all around us, in our homes, workplaces and even schools – and demand for our services has never been greater. We serve businesses, charities and other organisations all over the UK, surveying premises and buildings and providing advice and support with remediation if asbestos is found.
“In recent months, we’ve been successful in winning contracts with some major companies, all of them attracted to us by our strong values and our reputation for first class service.
“As an employer we continue to invest in our teams, offering packages and rewards which are second to none. We have bold plans for the future of our business and we’re all looking forward to seeing Acorn Analytical Services continue to grow and thrive.”
‘An amazing place to work’
Among those who have joined Acorn recently is Operations Administrator, Abbie Eastwood, who joined the company just before Christmas.
She said: “Since the day I started everyone has been helpful, welcoming and have really made me feel part of the team. On the first day I was shown around the office – this gave me an understanding of everyone’s role and how the business operates – which was really important to me, coming from a background that was not asbestos related.
“Within my first week, I completed the Asbestos Awareness Training course and this really helped me understand the dangers of asbestos and the history behind it.
“Attending Acorn’s Christmas Party after two weeks of being in the business was the perfect opportunity to get to know my colleagues in a social setting. I really enjoyed myself, and while speaking to everyone there, I was told that Acorn is an amazing company to work for, which was very reassuring to hear as a new starter.
“I am excited to continue to settle in, learn more and progress in my role here at Acorn.”
‘I have learnt so much in a short space of time’
Alex Rust said: “Reflecting on my first four months at Acorn, I feel as though I’ve been here for years because of how well I have settled in.
“I have learnt so much in a short amount of time and that is all down to the amazing training I received. My team has been nothing but supportive of me and helped me accelerate my own personal growth within my role. I am ready for 2024 and beyond!”
