IT may have been banned from new buildings more than 20 years ago but asbestos still poses a huge threat to the health and wellbeing of our society.
Thousands of buildings – including many schools – still contain asbestos which can go on to cause deadly cancer if it is damaged or disturbed releasing microscopic fibres into the air.
As the fight against asbestos rages on, we understand that education is key. That’s why the team of experts at industry leading consultancy, Acorn Analytical Services, is now offering FREE hour-long bitesize sessions to give your teams the information they need to manage asbestos safely.
Making information about asbestos more accessible
During our sessions, which will be led by our team of friendly, highly-trained, UKAS-accredited professionals, we’ll go back to basics, giving you an understanding of what asbestos is and how it has been used in buildings across the decades.
We’ll explain more about the three main surveys we carry out – asbestos management surveys, refurbishment surveys and demolition surveys – and what you can expect from them. We’ll also guide you through the process and the steps you need to take as business owners to ensure you are fully compliant with the law.
If you’re looking for a surveyor or a contractor to carry out work on your premises, we’ll explain what you need to look out for and all the pitfalls to avoid. We’ll also show you a survey report and the main regulations you need to be aware of.
At the end of the session, there will be plenty of time to ask any questions you may have about asbestos management.
