Three reasons why you should always #chooseacorn for all of your asbestos management needs

If you’re a regular visitor to our social media channels you’ll almost certainly have seen the hashtag #chooseacorn being used and maybe even wondered why.

For Acorn Analytical Services these two words alone mark a real step change in the way we do business – representing a fresh start and a bolder, much more innovative approach to our work.

Together, we’re on a mission make things better for our people, our clients and the communities we serve by raising awareness of the dangers of asbestos and providing effective solutions to help manage it safely.

#chooseacorn for all your asbestos needs

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the ban on the use of asbestos in new buildings – but instead of being a moment to celebrate it’s one of grave concern.

For many people, asbestos is very much a problem of the past – in some, a building material from the past they have never even heard of. The truth is, it remains as deadly as ever, lurking in our towns and cities, our hospitals and schools – a ticking timebomb we should all be alert to and taking steps to avoid.

At Acorn Analytical Services, we’re determined to drive this message home by providing the very best service we can. As well as providing surveys, sample analysis and comprehensive reports, we’re raising awareness of the dangers, working with those in authority to help bring about change, while educating the public and those in the construction industry to ensure they have the information they need to stay safe.

As a business, we’re changing the face of the asbestos industry, developing new initiatives to make it even easier for people to identify and safely manage asbestos. Among them is our Acorn Asbestos Antidote, a market leader in compliance.

#chooseacorn for fully-accredited asbestos training

When it comes to fighting asbestos, education is key, which is why we’ve stepped up the training sessions and resources we offer.

We’re particularly keen to target those working in the construction industry, for example, architects, plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators and roofers, whose work could put them in daily contact with asbestos.

Delivered by our team of professionals, and accredited by UKATA, we offer free CPD sessions, as well as training in-person or online depending on the individual needs of your business.

Each session will help professionals to identify asbestos while they are working and the steps they need to take urgently if it is disturbed.

In January, we joined forces with Northampton College to offer training the next generation of construction professionals to give them the tools they need to stay safe. It’s a relationship we’re keen to nurture and roll-out to other colleges in the future.

Elsewhere, we are constantly reviewing and updating the information we have on our website, including blogs, news articles and information sheets.

#chooseacorn to build your career

As an employer, Acorn Analytical Services is the best in the business with a benefits package which is second to none.

Our people are the at the heart of everything we do, so we want to make sure they are safe, happy and rewarded for their commitment and dedication to our cause.

This year, we’ve launched our Vision and Values Awards which shine a light on our best people, rewarding them for excellent service and for always going above and beyond.

We’re constantly reviewing and benchmarking our salaries to ensure they can’t be matched, something which we believe is particularly important during the cost-of-living crisis. And we’re focussed on training and development, providing opportunities for growth and progression wherever and whenever we can.

Together, we’re building a team with unrivalled skills and expertise who are now offering a level of service to our clients which cannot be matched.
