Let me first begin by sharing a little about our company and the position we currently have available.

Acorn Analytical Services is a successful Asbestos Consultancy, we service all sectors (domestic, commercial and industrial) across the UK and sometimes internationally too.

We’re one of the last fully independent asbestos consultancies in the UK.  Our services include asbestos surveying, testing in our office and site laboratories as well as full project management of asbestos removal projects.  We are fully UKAS accredited for our asbestos services as well as UKATA accredited for the training we provide.

Additionally, we assist clients with HAZMAT surveys, sampling and testing of lead, arsenic, anthrax etc plus we also have a new H&S department specialising in all areas of Health and Safety.

The Bid Writer & Coordinator position fits into the business development team.  Our business is to help clients to remove their asbestos and H&S headaches through our consultancy services.

You will be working in our Northampton office writing and coordinating bid and tender submissions. This is a time sensitive and pivotal role within the company and you will be working and liaising with all departments within the business. List of Responsibilities for This Position

  • Develop bid strategies for re-tenders, new tenders and supply only initiatives.
  • Creative and innovative writing in respect to the format and content of our bids and in line with the AMP (Association of Bid & Proposal Management Professionals) content guidelines.
  • Coordinate the dissemination of best practice throughout our bids.
  • Manage submissions through support to relevant departments in order to design and produce the bid documentation to meet client needs.
  • Collate knowledge of account activity in advance of a re-tender
  • Develop a consistent approach to feedback from bids and methods for responding to any challenges

Our Requirements

  • APMP Certification Foundation Level desirable or working towards qualification.
  • Someone who has a proven track record of writing bids and tenders
  • Friendly, confident and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of tender portals and systems
  • An enthusiastic, driven person who is willing and eager to learn.
  • Someone who works well within team environments.
  • An individual who has the ability to use their own initiative.
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and never miss a deadline

The Package

    Bid Writer & Coordinator –  Full Time (Northampton Office)

  • £25k – £30k per annum
  • 23 days holiday plus birthday off
  • Christmas shutdown period
